Dr Nicole Martin, Politics
Research focus: Elections, race and migration.
During her time in the department, Nicole has influenced positive change to the teaching and learning community by redesigning one of the core politics modules (with Dr Rosalind Shorrocks). The key idea behind this change was to offer students a chance to study a modern view of comparative politics as well as providing real insight into non-democratic countries across the world.
Nicole’s teaching methods largely focus on incorporating student participation such as roleplaying, voting and debates, allowing students to engage in current political topics.
