Dr Andrew Balmer, Sociology

Research focus: Technology, science, and everyday life.

Andrew has been teaching in our department for 7 years, currently working on projects focusing on secrecy and lying. He enjoys using his own research to teach in the classroom and encourages students to analyse data and consider how it may challenge current views in the field. He finds it both fun, and a privilege to be able to educate the next generation of people to form their own views, and ask new questions. 

Andrew receives positive student feedback which highlights his engaging and passionate approach to teaching, making it clear that he cares about his subject.
