Culture and consumption

We focus on cultural practices, consumption and sustainable lifestyles.

Culture and consumption cover many everyday things that we choose to do, use and buy, eg listening to music, choosing the clothes we wear, playing computer games and hanging out with friends.

We explore why we make these choices, what they mean, and what effect they have on our lives.

Our research also aims to address some of the big environmental and political questions of our time by looking at how small changes to individual consumption behaviour can make a real difference, impacting both policymakers and the private sector.
