Course unit selection

Everything you need to know - all in one place.

For each department or programme of study on the left you will find a five step guide to course unit selection.

We will also be sending information to your student email address.

For programme specific information you should refer to your Programme Blackboard Hub.

Once you have made up your mind, register and select your units through My Manchester

This enables you to select your course units, check you are taking a legitimate combination of courses and view your provisional timetable. Your final timetable will be available through My Manchester in September.

IMPORTANT: If you have compulsory referrals/resits in August, you will not be able to register for courses where you have not met the pre-requisites until your results have been confirmed. However, this does not stop you from signing up for the rest of your courses.

How do I change my tutorial group?

You will have been automatically allocated to a tutorial group.

If the time isn't convenient due to caring/work commitments, please contact the course owning School. We will try to accomodate you where possible.

What do I do if the course unit is full?

If a course is full we will look to increase the size if possible.

What happens if I have a clash?

You cannot select a course unit if it clashes with a course unit you are already enrolled on. You will need to select an alternative course unit.

To avoid clashes you can check the Timetables page prior to selecting your course units. (Timetables will be available mid-August)
