CPD courses

All of our CPD courses are provided online in a virtual learning environment. The courses are clear and to the point with plenty of opportunities to reflect on cases and complete activities to help you focus your learning.

We currently offer a suite of three CPD courses and the option to study units individually.

Study individual course units

You can also choose to study individual course units if this better suits your needs.

Studying course units independently provides the most flexible access to the breadth and depth of our CPD courses in medical ethics and law. There are currently five units available to start now, with further options that build upon these coming soon.

Course units currently available

  • Introduction to ethics and ethical reasoning (approx 6 study hours)
  • Research ethics 1 (approx 5 study hours)
  • Research ethics 2 (approx 5 study hours)
  • Confidentiality (approx 4 study hours)
  • Treating Children and adolescents (approx 5 study hours)

These units are accessible to everyone, whether you have any previous background in ethics or not. Each unit walks you through the main issues, provides a summary after each topic to consolidate your study, and concludes with a short multiple-choice quiz to check on your progress.

Accreditation

While studying individual course units is not formally accredited by any professional bodies you should be able to claim CPD credit for the hours you spend studying, including any extra reading you do as part of these course units. When completing your CPD profile, your certificate of completion of the course units and printouts of the content can be used as supporting evidence.

Course fees

These course units are available at any time through our Estore for only £95 each or pay for 3 or 5 units together for a discounted rate. University of Manchester alumni are eligible to receive an additional 10% discount.
