Your time with us will encourage you to consider new perspectives which will be highly relevant once you graduate.
Pastoral care and support
Throughout your time with us, you will have a dedicated Academic Adviser who will be available to provide help and advice on any aspect of student life.
We also have degree and course unit leads available to offer you both academic and professional expertise.
Peer mentoring
The Law Mentor Scheme is run by second and third-year undergraduate students to support incoming first years.
As a new undergraduate, your mentor will help you to settle into your new life in Manchester and make the most of your time here. Mentors are available to:
- help you adapt to university life and get involved in all our activities;
- offer support, help and direction in any aspect of university life;
- provide you with a supportive environment to work through issues relating to your studies;
- organise informal social activities to help you make new connections in Law at Manchester and beyond.
When you move into your second year you can then become a peer mentor to the next cohort of first years.
This offers new opportunities to develop yourself and add skills to your CV, while also ensuring that the new students settle in and enjoy their time with us.
Personal Development Plan (PDP)
Your Personal Development Plan will help you monitor and plan your academic and personal skills development.
They are designed to help you plan and manage your own learning and development and to raise your awareness of the transferable skills employers are looking for.
