My current role and how I got there

Economics was my favourite subject in school and I wanted to pursue it further as I knew it would give me a good educational foundation and also provide me with a wide variety of industries to join.

I love being exposed to culture and new people. Moving to the UK from India and choosing a unique city like Manchester was a no-brainer.

I was very indecisive when it came to choosing my career path. The University of Manchester gave me the unique opportunity to connect with people from all over the world.

I was a part of Alpha Kappa Psi and it was at one of our donor company events that I met an employee of Accenture, which I joined after university (and still work for 6+ years after graduating!). I got guidance and invaluable insight into what the firm was looking for. I have worked for Accenture in London, New Delhi and now Toronto. This was only possible thanks to The University of Manchester!

My experience at Manchester

My course provided me with a very solid educational base. I also participated in student clubs which were so easily accessible. This really helped me with my public speaking confidence, presentation skills and most importantly networking skills!

I was well prepared to take on my work and I did not feel like I was starting from scratch, having had the relevant experience at The University of Manchester.

The people I met were the best thing about my time at the University of Manchester.

My advice for future students

Explore all that the university has to offer from student clubs, events, and careers fairs to CV and cover letter guiding sessions. There is so much support, knowledge, and guidance accessible at the University of Manchester that success after graduating is right at our fingertips
