My current role and how I got there

After graduating, I started off my career with Deloitte, a professional services firm, as part of their audit and assurance team in London. I have been with the company for the past six years.

My current role involves leading financial statement audits of a clientele ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to large publicly listed companies.

My experience at Manchester

The University of Manchester was hands down my first choice owing to its recognition, great reputation and inclusion in the Russell group rankings in the UK. The impeccable research and alumni of the university attracted me to apply for the course at UOM. Manchester seemed like a wholesome package with its combination of vibrant student experience and academic quality.

Whilst doing my degree, I was exposed to top firms by attending career fairs and networking with fellow course mates which shaped up my career prospects.

My course gave me a basic grounding into the career path and thus prepared me to excel professionally.

I was able to boost up my confidence and take on so much by interacting with a diverse community of people I met whilst working part-time on campus. The skills came in so handy later in my professional career.

My advice for future students

Attend the university with an open mind to explore yourself and your career prospects. Put yourself out there and make the most of interacting with brilliant like-minded people. Last but not the least, don’t stress and enjoy this time as it could be one of the best times of your life.
