Odaro graduated from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria with a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics. She spent the next ten years working in the Commercial banking sector and Investment companies in Nigeria. During her working career, she qualified as a Chartered Accountant under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. She decided on a career change to academia and was awarded a scholarship by the Alliance Manchester Business School for a master's in Finance and Economics, which she obtained with a distinction in 2009. She was awarded the Overseas Research Scholarship Award and School of Social Sciences PhD studentship in 2010 in order to pursue her research interests. She is a member of the Econometrics and Applied Economics research area group.
Odaro’s research involves structural stability testing of financial econometric models estimated using generalised method of moments estimators. She is being supervised by Prof Alastair Hall and Dr Arthur Sinko.
