King Yoong Lim


King Yoong obtained his Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University in 2007 and was then awarded with the Australia's Commercial Representatives' and Agents' Association Prize. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Economics at the School of Social Science, University of Manchester, and is a member of the Macroeconomics, Growth and Development research area group (RAG).

Prior to coming to Manchester, his professional experience include working spell with the Securities Commission of Malaysia and the research arm of Malaysia's sovereign wealth fund, Khazanah Nasional.  During this period, he has contributed to the drafting of Malaysia’s second Capital Market Masterplan, the National Innovation Strategy, and its associated GLC Innovation Transformation Programme. He is also the co-author of the book, "Can Malaysia Achieve Innovation-led Growth?" published by Khazanah Nasional in 2013, and formerly a reviewer for the Economics topic in a SIDC Licensing Examination Module for capital market practitioners in Malaysia.
