Manchester sociologist tackles “million dollar” question of radicalisation

Radicalisation is a process, and there’s no one answer to why young people are radicalised, according to a Manchester sociologist.

Dr Ajmal Hussain, a Research Fellow in Sociology at The University of Manchester, has given his views to news site The Journal. Along with Dr Necla Acik, School of Law, Dr Hussain has contributed to two articles around terrorism and radicalisation.

Quoted in a piece about why young people might be radicalised, Dr Hussain calls it "the million dollar question, saying:

“It’s a state, it’s a process and it’s a situation that’s constantly in motion.”
