Martin Kelly

Second Year BEconSc Student

Martin Kelly

Why did you choose to study on this programme?

I wanted to specialise in Economics as a career and the skills BEconSc gave appealed to me. The degree also gave me a fair amount of flexibility for module shows i.e. History modules.

Why did you choose the University of Manchester?

I enjoyed the visit to the city and the course itself also appealed to me.

What do you like in Manchester as a city?

I enjoy the jazz club in the Northern Quarter; it also has a nice atmosphere, with cheap drinks and a good night out and obviously the weather.

What has been the highlight of your course so far?

I have particularly enjoyed the Development and ‘Studying Economics’ modules taught by Nick Weaver.

What is it like to study in the school?

Academic staff are accessible as the SOHOL (Staff Office Hour OnLine) system makes office hours easy to access.

What social/extra curricular opportunities have been opened up for you by studying at the University?

Volunteering in Student Action. Musical opportunities and both going to gigs and being able to find other musicians to be able to play with.
