RICC provides a stimulating and dynamic environment for intellectual and political exchange around the highly contested notion of cosmopolitanism. Our research is broadly clustered around six intersecting themes.

RICC members come from diverse research backgrounds, fostering vibrant interdisciplinary dialogues across areas such as cosmopolitan and transnational cinema (Jackie Stacey, Felicia Chan); migration, displacement and borders (Nina Glick Schiller, Ewa Ochman, Madeleine Reeves); cities and marginality (Atreyee Sen, Nina Glick Schiller); cosmopolitan imaginaries, affects and mediations (Andrew Irving, Adi Kuntsman); citizenship, legality and subjecthood (Heather Latimer, Madeleine Reeves, Adi Kuntsman); comparative histories and literatures of cosmopolitanism (Galin Tihanov). For more details, please see our profile pages.

Since its establishment in 2007, RICC has generated a range of collaborative research projects, publications, resources and events and attracted a growing number of doctoral research students.
