Dr Nicola Allett
At the Morgan Centre...
Nicola worked with us as a post-doctoral research associate on a one year ESRC-funded contract from October 2009, as part of Realities.
During her year with us Nicola developed research undertaken as part of her PhD on fan communities in extreme metal music. In particular, she continued her interest in creative research methods, producing a Realities toolkit and working paper on the use of music elicitation in qualitative research.
- Realities Toolkit # 07: Using Music Elicitation to Research People's Relationship with Music
- Realities Working Paper # 14: Sounding Out: Using music elicitation in qualitative research
After the Morgan Centre...
Nicola moved to Loughborough University as a Research Associate in October 2010. She is working the 'Media of Remembering: Photography and Phonography in everyday remembering' project. This project also uses a combination of traditional and new qualitative research methods and we invited Nicola and her new colleagues to contribute a Realities toolkit on a new method they have used, called self-interviewing.
- See Nicola's staff page on the Loughborough University website (Link opens in new window) for up to date publications and more details of this project.
