By train

The closest train station is Manchester Oxford Road, which is 10-15 minutes walk away. Manchester Piccadilly station, in the city centre, is about 1.5 miles away.

Buses

Bus links from the city centre are good. There is a peak-time link bus (number 147) between Piccadilly train station and the campus which runs every 10 minutes. To catch this bus, leave the station by the exit near the taxi rank, cross over the car park towards the rail bridge in front of you and the bus stop is on the other side of the road.

Other buses run from the Piccadilly Gardens bus terminus which is about 5 minutes walk from Piccadilly train station. Leave the station by the main exit and head to your right - ask directions if you aren't sure. Buses are very frequent and usually take about 10-15 minutes (slower in heavy traffic). Most buses will go past the University, including numbers 41, 42, 43, 142 and 143. The last two are usually one of the cheapest options.

Finding Us

The Arthur Lewis Building was built in 2007 so might not be a familiar landmark if you need to ask the way. Most people will know where the Manchester Museum and/or Blackwell's book shop are. We are between these two places.

Visitors

If you are visiting us, please come to reception on the third floor of the Arthur Lewis Building.
