Rediscovering the Civic and Achieving Better Outcomes in Public Policy

The Institute for Political and Economic Governance at the University of Manchester is working with the University of Southampton on a research programme 'Rediscovering the Civic and Achieving Better Outcomes in Public Policy'. It is an ESRC Ventures project on how we can increase civic behaviour, which is very timely because of the government's objective to increase citizens' voices in the Empowerment White Paper, published in July 2008. Our aim is to investigate the most effective ways to encourage active citizenship.

This project finished on 30 June 2010. For further information about the project please see the Civic Behaviour website or contact charlotte.jackson@manchester.ac.uk.
