Teaching Political Economy Resources

Workshop

University of Warwick, September 16, 2011

This inaugural workshop brought together Professors, Lecturers, Researchers and PhD students, in all 37 participants from 20 different institutions came together to discuss the many facets and challenges of teaching political economy. This event was made possible by financial contributions from the Politics and International Studies (PAIS) Department at Warwick University, The Manchester Political Economy Institute and Department of Politics at Sheffield—many thanks for making this event possible.

The morning session began with talks by Prof Kees van der Pijl (Sussex) and Prof Matthew Watson (Warwick) who both discussed and debated political economy as a pre-disciplinary subject and field of inquiry.

The afternoon session had talks by Richard Woodward (Hull) and Earl Gammon (University of East Anglia) on innovation in teaching content and materials.

Audio files of both sessions can be found at the bottom of the BISA-IPEG webpage.
